Practice what you preach is the saying that best describes my motivation to develop this electronic portfolio site (ePortfolio). After designing and presenting a workshop on how graduate students can document their teaching by creating an ePortfolio, I decided that time has come. I need to begin putting together my ePortfolio as I feel I have some hopefully interesting enough experiences to share and bring together with Academics, Research Staff, postgraduate students, and academic developers.
I am an educational developer and researcher and this ePortfolio is the means by which I will present myself as an engaging teacher, an active educational researcher and a supportive academic developer. In my most recent role as an Academic Staff Developer I focused on supporting early career researchers, designing and facilitating the “Starting to Teach” programs for research staff and postgraduate students, overseeing the research staff mentoring circles and research staff reps committee, and coordinating the South West Crucible program.
