This is a foundational course for secondary pre-service teachers. The course develops future HS teachers’ pedagogical knowledge and skills of instructional planning, teaching methods, and classroom assessment techniques. The course is designed around a set of authentic assessments such as unit planning, lesson planning using various instructional methods ranging from direct to indirect instruction, designing traditional and alternative assessments, and selecting appropriate educational technology to engage students.
